What We Believe About Salvation
When all is said and done, God will have won! In spite of Satan, sin, atheists, Islam, communism, etc. the last chapter is all about God cleaning up the mess sin created. Thequestion for all of us is which side do we want to be on when that happens. God desiresfor all to be saved (II Peter 3:9), and has provided the following plan for us.1. We are all born sinners and are guilty of sin which separates us from the holy God anddestines us justly to hell (Isaiah 59:2, Romans 3:23, 6:23). Good works of religion, morality, or philanthropy cannot help (Ephesians 2:8-9). This is a huge problem.2. God’s solution for the sin problem is Jesus Christ crucified.Jesus is God, He became human, He lived perfectly, and died as the sacrifice for our sins(I Peter 3:18, Romans 5:8, I Corinthians 15:3-4). He is, therefore, the only way to God(John 14:6, Acts 4:12).3. Salvation is such a great gift that it cannot be earned or paid for by sinners. Godrequires that in repentance we receive the free offer of salvation by believing on JesusChrist (John 1:12, Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9 & 13). And when we do, God promises togive us His life, which is eternal (John 5:24).
DistinctivesWe believe the Bible and try to obey the God Who wrote it.We focus on Christ and believe He is still more attractive than contemporary methods. We are traditional in music style. We primarily use the expository style of preaching. We are not King James Version only.We are Christ-centered rather than performance-centered. |
